Victory--And History
Mariano Rivera has passed Lee Smith on the all-time saves list for second, behind only Trevor Hoffman. That's basically it for Yankees news, besides that we're doomed.
Pitcher Of The Game
Alfredo Aceves: 6.0 innings, 5 hits, 2 runs, 3 K, 1 BB

Hitter Of The Game
Xavier Nady: 1 for 3, HR, 2 RBI, 2 R, 1 BB

rest of the game:

In other baseball news, congratulations to Carlos Zambrano, the Cubs' ace, who threw a no-hitter at Miller Park. That truly puts him in the ranks of the best pitchers in baseball.

And I suppose at least some acknowledgement is owed to K-Rod, that closer for the evil team, for his 58th save.
